Introducing Senior Living
The terms “senior living” and “senior housing” are used interchangeably to describe housing that has been developed for people age 55 and older. Senior living takes many forms, including apartments, condominiums, mobile home parks, detached or attached homes. It may be licensed by a government agency and provide services as well as some level of care, such as assisted living communities. However, the term senior living does not usually include those facilities that are licensed to provide medical care, such as nursing homes.
We encourage you to review the many essays under “About Senior Living”. We hope it will answer many questions you might have as you consider the housing and care options available to you or for a senior loved one.
