Deborah Godt
Executive Director

Deborah Pontynen Godt was promoted to Executive Director of Hank Fisher Properties’ two premier senior living communities – River’s Edge and the Chateau at River’s Edge, located in the Campus Commons neighborhood of Sacramento — in April 2010. The two communities are home to over 200 residents and employ nearly 100 staff members. They offer first-class independent and assisted living as well as memory care.

Ms. Godt formerly held the posts of corporate marketing director for Hank Fisher Properties and marketing director of River’s Edge. She has been involved in the development and marketing of senior living communities for over a decade and has served with Hank Fisher Properties since 2008.

As executive director, Mrs. Godt is responsible for overseeing the operations of the two communities, including budgeting and complying with state and federal laws. She directs and provides leadership to staff to promote resident well being and keep families apprised. She also helps retain and build partnerships with such community organizations as the Society for the Blind and the B Street Theater for the benefit of residents.

A native Sacramentan, Ms. Godt received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration in 1980 from Pacific Union College, Angwin, California. She went on to earn in 1989 a Master’s degree in administration with an emphasis on marketing from Andrews University, Berrien, Michigan. She also is certificated by the State of California as an administrator of Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFEs).

She resides with her husband, Russell, in Carmichael. Her daughter, Kate, attends college in southern California.

Shing Vang
Marketing Director

Mrs. Shing Vang joined Hank Fisher Properties in October 2008 and served as marketing director of the Chateau at River’s Edge for over two years. She took over the post at River’s Edge in March 2011.

She assists seniors and their families in determining their housing and long-term care needs and the most appropriate settings for meeting those needs. She also helps new residents with the move-in process and maintains contact with a wide variety of professionals providing referrals and resources for seniors.

Prior to joining the Chateau at River’s Edge, she had acquired substantial experience in the senior living industry, working in the business office of a skilled nursing facility and as a marketer of assisted living.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and raised in Chico, Mrs. Vang was graduated from California State University at Chico, where she studied health administration, business and human resources. She is certificated by the State of California as an administrator of Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFEs). Currently she is a master’s degree candidate in Human Resource Development at Drexel University.

Mrs. Vang and her husband, Tua, reside in Elk Grove.
